Part of SOAR’s Mission Statement is “advocating for improved employment opportunities” in the Northland. We are dedicated to helping low to moderate income people identify, obtain, and keep their ideal job.
Since most of our programs are funded in part with government contracts, it is very important for us to be informed and aware of what our politicians are doing in Washington DC, St. Paul, and Duluth. Decisions made by our elected officials can have a huge positive or negative effect on our agency, programs, and clients.
Here are some links to government websites at the federal, state, and local levels. Please visit these sites from time to time to see what legislation is being proposed, before it becomes law. If you’d like to make your opinions heard, you can look up and contact the elected officials who represent you by using these websites.
