Job-Related Letters

Many job seekers don't realize that these letters are an important part of their job search.  Our career specialists will write letters that are customized to you, your qualifications, and the job you're seeking.

30-minute session, plus letter and disk:  $60 per letter.

  1. Generic Cover Letter:

    2. We will create a basic cover letter, which you can tailor to each specific job opening you're applying for.

  2. Customized Cover Letter:

    3. This letter is written in response to an employer’s posting of a particular job opening.  We will write a letter that matches your qualifications to the advertised requirements of the position.

  3. Referral Letter:

    4. This letter is written to a specific employer, mentions the person who has referred you, and highlights your qualifications as a potential employee.  You can use a referral letter either to apply for a specific job opening or to contact an employer who has no current openings, but may have openings in the future.

  4. Cold-Contact Cover Letter:

    5. This letter is used to contact employers who have no advertised or published job openings.  We will write a customized letter that matches your best qualifications with the needs of the employer.

  5. Thank You/Follow-Up Letter:

    6. This letter is written to a specific person in appreciation for a job interview or an informational interview.  It may also be directed to any other person who has helped you in your job search.  This letter is a great chance for you to sell yourself again and to remind the recipient of your skills, qualifications, and enthusiasm.

  6. Accept/Decline Letter:

    7. In some cases, you might only need to sign, date, and return a job offer letter to the employer who send it.  However, in other cases, you might have to create your own letter.  We will write a professional letter for you to accept or decline a job offer.

  7. Resignation Letter:

    8. Quitting your job?  Don’t burn any bridges!  Call a SOAR career specialist, who will write an effective resignation letter with a positive tone.

 

Reference Sheet

A reference sheet is a list of people who can verify and elaborate on your work experience for a potential employer.  The people you choose as a reference should be familiar with your academic and/or employment history.  SOAR Career Solutions will create a customized professional reference sheet for you.
